I am very happy to report that the first of the Pumpkins are now in the ground, I have planted them in the same area as last year, my pumpkin patch. I am very happy for them to cover the whole area but this year I am going to keep them off the Rosa virginiana, for me this is one of the best bush roses you can get and would want in your garden, the flowers are a simple soft pink and in the autumn the leaves turn a burnt sugar colour with red hips. I have given the young plants lots of water and lots of organic slug pallets, I am sure the slugs will be out tonight.
