Now that winter is here the digging has started, the first piece of land I have started to dig is the area that we grew the pumpkins in this summer, it is the area that needs the most compost and the time to let the frost get in to break it all up. The key with winter digging is to bring up to the surface as much clay as you can, this will then be broken up by frost, and to get as much compost as deep as you can.
